St. Stephen UMC and Heart Math Tutoring are partnering to support students in building foundational math skills and confidence!
Heart Math Tutoring is a Charlotte-based non-profit that recruits and supports volunteers to serve as tutors for elementary school students who are performing below grade level in math. Volunteers are needed to tutor an elementary student 30 minutes or 1 hour per week from October to April. Virtual and in-person tutoring opportunities are available with our 26 school partners in the 2023/24 school year. Heart provides a fun, effective curriculum, and an on-site Program Coordinator to ensure success. Tutors work with the same student(s) each session to build strong relationships and math skills. And, in case you missed it on Sunday… We were so happy to welcome representatives from Heart Math as we presented their portion of proceeds from this year’s Treasure Sale. Heart Math received $5,000. Thank you St. Stephen! Another beneficiary, The Relatives, will be with us on Sept. 3.
