St. Stephen presents Christmas Eve Offering to Center of Hope, Booth Commons
On Thursday, April 18, St. Stephen leaders met onsite with leaders of the Center of Hope, a local shelter for women and children operated by the Salvation Army, to present $13,500 in support from our 2023 Christmas Eve Offering. The funds generously donated by St. Stephen members will be used to support the operations of both the Center of Hope, as well as Booth Commons, another shelter serving veterans and their families.
The donation was presented by Senior Pastor Ken Curtis to Center of Hope’s Kellee Helton Hicks. Also present were volunteers from the Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary, who meet at the Center of Hope to help serve lunch on the third Thursday of each month. Longtime St. Stephen members Charlotte Dunn and Gail Card, along with many other women of the church, have long been involved in the local Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary.
St. Stephen’s 2023 Christmas Eve Offering totaled $27,000, with half supporting the Center of Hope/Booth Commons and the other half supporting various needs at our new CMS partner school, Eastway Middle, whose gift was presented in February.
