GPS Objective
Have you ever asked yourself, “What’s my purpose here on earth?”
Do you know that God has a unique purpose for each one of us?
A God-Purpose that will honor God, bless others, and create joy in your life.
God has given each one of us spiritual gifts and a unique, personal style.
He further placed passions upon our hearts that compel us to address the needs in our community and in the world.
The objective of the GPS Program is to help you discover your Gifts, Passion, and Style (GPS), and use them to address the Needs of our community.
Like the GPS on phones or in cars, the GPS program is intended to help you explore:
...where you have been,
...where you are now,
...the best way to get where you want to go,
...how to deal with obstacles along the way.
In other words, the GPS Program will help give you direction!

God has given you a Unique Profile.
The GPS Program helps you discover the four elements of your Unique Profile:
- Spiritual Gifts
- Personal Style
- Passion
- Needs
As you use your Gifts, Passion, and Style (GPS) to address Needs in the community, you are living out the purpose for which you were created…

The GPS Program is organized into two parts:
GPS-1 has two classes (two hours each) that focus on understanding your spiritual gifts and personal style while also learning about serving opportunities at St. Stephen UMC.
GPS-2 has four classes (two hours each) that build upon GPS-1. It further explores your life experiences and the passions that God has placed on your heart to serve in our community.
GPS-2 also takes a deeper dive into understanding the obstacles that hinder you and helps you develop an action plan to live out your God-Purpose.
The GPS Program offers you the flexibility to take GPS-1 and GPS-2 either together over several weeks or separately over several years.
GPS can also be organized for a weekend retreat.
The GPS Program has also developed unique workshops for Youth and Community Outreach.
You! The concept of spiritual gifts is introduced in the book of 1 Corinthians by Paul. Often as members of the body of Christ, we have not been presented with an opportunity to explore our Unique Profile. The GPS Program is about exploration, helping you grow in your spiritual journey.
Classes are frequently offered multiple times per year. If you have a group of six or more interested in taking the workshop together, we can make special arrangements to do so.
While it is most valuable to take a series of classes together, we understand scheduling challenges and unexpected events. We can work with you to arrange completing a series of classes as upcoming workshops are scheduled.
There is no monetary cost in taking the GPS Workshops. But the benefits are out of this world — Heavenly!
