Life Essentials: Means of Grace
As we enter a time of annual renewal, we’re winding back our faith journey and turning toward the essentials. Join us every week until Lent for our new series exploring some of the foundational lessons and principles that support our journey as followers of Jesus. So far, we’ve explored the Golden Rule, Forgiveness, Serving Others, and Worship. This week, we explore John Wesley’s Means of Grace.
Sermon Reflections:
- In what ways have I allowed my spiritual practices to evolve and grow over time?
- How do I respond to the concept of “sitting in a new seat” within my spiritual journey, and what does that look like for me?
- Which spiritual disciplines (prayer, reading scripture, fasting, etc.) do I find most enriching, and why?
- How do I balance individual spiritual practices with communal ones (like participating in small groups or missions activities), and where might I need to grow or shift my focus?
- Can I identify moments in my daily life where I can “insert God” more intentionally, as suggested in the sermon, to alter my reactions or decisions?
- How does my faith inform my daily decisions and interactions, especially in challenging or unexpected situations?
