Marks of a Mother
On this Mother’s Day, Pastor Ken delivers a message exploring the “marks of a mother.” The mothers and women in our lives leave impressions that reflect the One who made us. The highest calling for any person — man or woman — is simply to reflect the marks, the characteristics of the One who created us.
Sermon Reflections:
- How does the Canaanite woman in the passage from Matthew demonstrate perseverance?
- Can you think of a time in your own life when you had to persevere through a challenge? What helped you keep going?
- The sermon mentions perseverance as a mark of God. How can we cultivate perseverance in our own lives?
- Have you experienced unconditional love in your life? How did it impact you?
- Not everyone has a traditional mother figure in their life. How can we celebrate the positive influences of other caregivers, such as fathers, grandparents, teachers, or mentors?
- What are some of the challenges faced by single parents or families without a mother figure?
- How can we create a more inclusive and supportive community for all families?
