Messengers: Annunciations
Ken Curtis   -

We continue our Advent worship series, Messengers. How have people throughout history heard the voice of God? Oftentimes, it comes through interactions with God’s messengers, or angels. In part one, we explored the various ways God’s messengers have brought people comfort, hope, and help. In part two, we explored the “Heavenly Hosts.” This week, we dive into Annunciations.

Sermon Reflections:

  • How can we cultivate a spirit of rejoicing, even in challenging circumstances, as Mary did? What specific actions or practices can help us to experience deeper joy in our lives?
  • In what ways can we strengthen our belief in God’s constant presence and protection? How can we draw comfort and assurance from the knowledge that the Lord is with us?
  • How can we overcome fear and anxiety, trusting in God’s promises and guidance? What practical steps can we take to replace fear with faith and hope?
  • How can we open ourselves to God’s extraordinary plans and purposes, even when they seem impossible or beyond our understanding? What does it mean to trust in God’s ability to work miracles in our lives?
  • How can we deepen our commitment to serving God and others? What specific ways can we respond to God’s call to be His servants, as Mary did?
  • How can we discern God’s voice and respond to His invitations? What steps can we take to be more receptive to the opportunities and challenges that God places before us?
