ONEness: In the Church
In this new series, Senior Pastor Ken Curtis guides us through the concept of oneness. What does it mean and what does it look like for Christians to find unity in the midst of a divided world? This week, we begin our exploration of unity in the church, using Paul’s first letter to the Corinthians as a guide.
Sermon Reflections:
- What is the primary purpose or unity within the Christian community? What is the difference between “oneness” and “sameness”?
- What lessons can be learned from the example provided by Paul’s message to the Corinthians?
- In what ways is our church — and the wider Christian community — “diverse”? How can we embrace and celebrate differences while maintaining unity?
- How do we define the “essentials” of Christianity? Why are these essentials crucial for maintaining unity?
- What are practical ways we can navigate our differences, particularly in today’s polarized world, without breaking community?
- What role does love play in fostering unity and helping us overcome differences and divisions?
