The Shema
In this week’s message, Senior Pastor Ken Curtis leads us through the Shema — the two “greatest” commandments reiterated by Jesus in the Gospels. As back-to-school season heats up, we zero in on the God’s command to “keep these words” and “recite them to your children.”
Sermon Reflections:
- Teaching the faith to our children is essential. How can we effectively pass down our faith traditions and values across generations? What are some practical strategies for doing so?
- What is the church community’s role in nurturing the faith of children? What specific responsibilities do individual members have in supporting the faith development of children and young adults?
- There’s some evidence that points to a correlation between regular church attendance and positive outcomes in children’s lives. How can we encourage greater and more meaningful participation in church life for children and their families?
- What practical ways can we navigate the challenges and demands of modern life with our spiritual life?
